One of the core concerns of using physical notebooks compared to electronic alternatives regards our planet and deforestation.
The Nature Conservancy estimates that 41 to 42 million trees are cut down every single day. Which adds up to about 15 billion trees per year.
They also found that 5 billion trees were planted each year. Although this number is astronomical, we still end up with a net loss of 10 billion trees annually.
TETEC Innovation found that roughly 4 billion trees are cut down every year specifically for paper production.
The paper industry accounts for 4 billion trees being cut down every year.
For this reason Jotz has partnered with Plant with Purpose and pledges to plant a tree for every page pack sold.
Our efforts alone won’t make a large difference to this absurdly high number. But we believe that taking a stand against this neglectful industry is beneficial.
